I remember when I first spoke with Victoria & Blake on the phone about their Coronado Community Center Wedding… a couple things were apparent to me after than first initial phone conversation – #1: They knew what they were looking for and loved our natural and candid photo style (score!) and #2: They had rockin’ personalities and the 4 of us would all get along and jive perfectly on their wedding day. Yep…nailed it. It is these types of meetings, whether its on the phone or in person, when everything just clicks that we realllllllly hope to book the wedding, because when it feels that comfortable and smooth from the get-go – that’s when we know we will really get some magical photos working together.
Victoria & Blake flew into town from Ohio, while family and friends also made the trip from all over the map for their San Diego destination wedding weekend. I remember them telling Nicole and I that they just wanted their wedding to be an amazing party that everyone has a blast at…and as you’ll see with the photos at the end of the night, it was most certainly a “party” to remember 🙂
Blake was hanging out playing it cool getting ready at the Hotel Del Coronado before their first look…I totallllllly dig both of these shots I got of him just taking it all in on his big day.
Meanwhile, Nicole was hanging out with the ladies at the Coronado Community Center as they were making final preparations.
Just having one first look wasn’t enough (first looks are always the best, always…) for Victoria and she had a quick first look moment with her dad which was so moving and emotional. It made all of us teary eyed and was so neat to see the love both of them have for each other just from their expressions…enjoy these….
After some initial portraits at the Coronado Community Center we made our way to the beach side to do more portraits by the Hotel Del Coronado. On a totally different note…don’t these two look like complete models? They totally rocked all their photos!
Victoria’s pearls is so classy….especially in these black and whites.
This (bottom photo) is one of my favorite ceremony shots I’ve ever taken… its these split second moments that are so telling and have so much “story” behind them.
As always, the reception room at a Coronado Community Center wedding always looks amazing. Such a perfect San Diego wedding venue!
After toasts we swept these two away for another 10 min of portraits as the sun was setting to give them some time alone and to take in the majestic looking San Diego sky.
Another favorite….love this “party” shot!
In addition to their regular wedding cake they were surprised with a second wedding cake which was honoring their Harvard University roots where these two met. Yeah, Victoria & Blake have quite the resume in addition to just being great people 🙂 All of their Harvard friends surrounded them to chant their school spirit together!
